A new Islander loyalty card has been launched to encourage people to shop local on the Isle of Wight.
The LoyaltyPLUS card scheme has been devised by the Isle of Wight Observer newspaper as a strategy to encourage shoppers to shop local and spend money with local businesses.
Shoppers over 16 residing on the Island can apply for a loyaltyPLUS card to which traders and local businesses based on the Isle of Wight are signed up to.
The card can currently be purchased for £5.99 (RRP £9.99) and will last for 12 months.
It gives the holder access to exclusive offers in participating stores across the Island, for example with some offering discounts and others offering a free item with purchases.
Carole Dennett, one one the members behind the card scheme said “The LoaytyPLUS card is something that has been created by the team at the Isle of Wight Observer. We are trying to find new ways to encourage people to to shop locally on the Island and see what other shops and businesses there are that they don’t usually visit.
“All the participating businesses add a sticker to their window and each will have special offers.”
